Do you have Domain on GoDaddy and hosting on Hostinger?

In this article, I will tell you How to Point GoDaddy Domain to Hostinger.

If you have the same question then you will get the right answer in this article.

Why do you need to change NS(Name Servers)?

You need to change only and only when domain and hosting servers are from different companies otherwise your domain is already pointed to hosting from you buy both domain and hosting company.

We can do it by using Two methods such as:-

  • Using DNS Setting
  • Using A Record

Here am going to share steps follow them as described below:-

#Method 1 – Using DNS Setting

Step 1  – Login to Hostinger Cpanel

Go to your favorite browser and type  https://www.hostinger.com/cpanel-login

You can log in using your social media profile such as Facebook, Google, and Github or by using email and password. It’s up to you which option you choose.

Step 2 – Choose Hosting Option

So now you are on the dashboard where products will be shown that are purchased by you. It could be

  • Hosting
  • Domain
  • SSL Certificate

After login you have to Choose Hosting option from the menu or dashboard as per mentioned in below screenshot :

Step 3 – Go to DNS Zone Editor

On this page make sure you have chooses “I’ll use my own nameservers” radio button without this you can’t be able to update Nameservers.

By Default Godaddy Shows 2 input box if you have more than 2 Name Servers then add new input box by clicking on the “Add Nameserver” button

After All Done, Now click on  “Save” Button

#Method 2 – Using ‘A’ Record

Follow the Step from 1 to 3 of Method 1

Step – 1 Copy IP Address

Type in the search box @ and copy the IP Address as highlighted in the screenshot:-

For example, our IP is 192.168.10.23 (Don’t copy and paste this IP It’s dummy not real)

Copy IP Address

Step 2 – Login to Godaddy Account and Choose DNS

Here you will see the many types of records such as A, CNAME, SOA..etc

Congratulations !! You have completed the process.

Now, wait for some time to propagate nameserver because it can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate worldwide.

Conclusion

By finishing this tutorial, we have learned the two ways to point a GoDaddy domain name to Hostinger. the primary is by changing the name servers, and therefore the second is by changing your registrar’s A Record.

I recommend the first method because it automatically sets your domain with Hostinger IP Address so you don’t have to go to another hassle if it changes one day.

So what do you think? Which method will you choose? Let me know in the comments below!
